However, there is still some hope and opportunity for those disappointed individuals.

The AAA in Johannesburg is still open for registration for its degree programmes and invites those who dream of a career in marketing, advertising and communications to register until Monday, 15 February.

Degrees offered by the AAA are formally accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training. In addition, all the AAA qualifications are internationally recognised and carry the IAA accreditation, which means that the path for our graduates’ success is paved.

The AAA is the ‘birthplace of brilliant’ with 86% of the graduates employed immediately after completing their studies. It is the place where the advertising and communications sector shops for talent.

The institution is owned by the Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) which is the recognized industry body of the advertising and communications sector in South Africa, and represents those agencies who contribute approximately R42-billion annually of total measured ad spend. In a nutshell, the aaa is owned by approximately 96% of the agencies who generate jobs in the sector.

Prof. Krishna Govender, the academic director of the AAA comments: “As the official higher education institution for the South African advertising and communications profession, we believe in providing our students with more than just knowledge, skills and practical experience. We encourage creative exploration so that potential is turned into achievement. We open the door to innovation and make it integral to the learning process.”

Odette van der Haar, CEO of the ACA said: “A degree from the aaa opens doors to a dynamic and exceptionally rewarding career in the business of marketing, advertising and communications. It also affords parents bragging rights at the dinner table! The AAA graduates are highly sought after and more often than not, immediately employed when they complete their studies, because the institution was formed by the profession for the profession, to feed talent into the sector.”
