Dr Johann Rupert, chairman of Swiss-based luxury-goods company, Richemont, and South Africa-based, Remgro, will accept the
Sunday Times Top 100 Companies Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to the country’s economy.
The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies Business Leader of the Year will also be announced.
The Business Leader of the Year Award is a highly regarded accolade, with the recipient being decided by CEOs of the
Sunday Times Top 100 Companies from the previous year. Previous winners include Johan van Zyl, Michael Jordaan, Phuthuma Nhleko, Johann Rupert, Brian Joffe, Graham Mackay, Maria Ramos, Adrian Gore, Whitey Basson and Dr. Christo Wiese.
The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies tracks the best-performing businesses on the JSE, acknowledging those with the highest shareholder returns over the past five years. Last year, Fortress Income Fund won the
Sunday Times Top Company accolade.
The Sunday Times Royal Companies are those which have placed in the top twenty positions of the
Sunday Times Top 100 Companies for three consecutive years. These results will also be announced at the event in November.
