Women’s Health South Africa announced the launch of its fully functional and interactive website, www.WomensHealthSA.co.za.

Developed by social and mobile media company, Cerebra, the website features fresh content ranging from articles and in-depth features to expert’s blogs across the magazine’s six editorial pillars – health; fitness; nutrition and weight-loss; sex and relationships; beauty and style; and career and finance.

Specially developed content portals such as Daily Beat, a collection of aggregated ‘best of the web’ content relevant to Women’s Health readers, and Hot Bloggers, a selection of the latest blog posts by some of South Africa’s leading healthy lifestyle bloggers, will be streamed directly onto the Women’s Health homepage daily. In addition, the Women’s Health contributing editors and experts will blog via the website and also respond to web users’ comments or questions.

Exclusive content will be offered to regular and loyal Women’s Health website users on a monthly basis. The premium content, such as downloadable workout videos for mobile phones or in-depth feature articles, will be free for the first month after which users will need to pay per download via a safe and secure micro payment facility that has been incorporated into the website’s development.

In addition, the website features an intelligent User Profiling System (UPS), which studies a web user’s browsing habits and recommends additional web content that is tailored to each user’s interests. This feature also allows online advertisers to target specific users and easily measure the effectiveness of each advertising campaign.

“Worldwide, Women’s Health is thriving online, and with the global proliferation of online social media we saw this as an opportunity to provide South African women with a more immediate entry point to the Women’s Health brand. This innovative website allows consumers a fully interactive experience prior to what we expect to be a very successful print launch,” says Jason Brown, Editorial Director for Touchline Media’s Rodale titles.

The launch issue of Women’s Health South Africa will be available on newsstands on 21 October. The magazine will be published 10 times per year with a print order of 98 000 and a cover price of R29.95. For more information, visit www.WomensHealthSA.co.za.
