This vibrant labour of love debut, "Let It Play", is a fusion of jazz, African rhythms, adult contemporary, lounge and more. Sunnyboy says "I have been working with all these different artists for a long time and they all have their different music styles, but I felt it time that I bring in a new sound - a Sunnyboy Sound."

Hailing from eMbalentle in Secunda, Mpumalanga, the talented Sunnyboy was somewhat of a late bloomer. Inspired by the great Jimmy Dludlu’s in 2001, Sunnyboy only started playing guitar at the age of 18 while in Matric. Self-taught, the naturally gifted Sunnyboy caught on quickly and continued nurturing his skill by strumming the instrument in the church band.

Since then he has delved into various music styles ranging from funk to Motswako, hip-hop, Afro-pop, urban contemporary, house, traditional, reggae, and kwela music. Sunnyboy has performanced with distinguished artists such as HHP, Theo Kgosinkwe, Lira, Tuks, Lesego, Swazi Dlamini, Keke, Gloria Bosman, JR and Gang of Instrumentals amongst others. 2010 saw him perform at the Fezile Dabi Aids Benefit Concert, Ekurhuleni Jazz Comes Alive at Birchwood Hotel as well as the Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition. And now he sets off for The Winter Music Conference in Miami with Liquideep from 6 – 14 March.

Sunnyboy says that he took all his influences from the above jazz greats, mixed that up with the various music styles he has been playing to bring you ‘Let It Play.’ Artists featured on the album include the likes of Thandisa Mazwai, Stoan Seate, Bantu Soul, JR and HHP. It’s an offering of pure and honest compositions that stem from an instinctive passion and understanding of music. It affords the listener an experience where they can deeply immerse in its splendor and simply ‘Let It Play’.
