Fashion meets Music sponsored by Mi-Fone
Kenyan fashion designer and singer, Liz Ogumbo, will present her unique Fashion meets Music concept at this year’s Sanaa Africa Festival, taking place on 28 May at moyo Zoo Lake. Ogumbo's concept was launched earlier this year at Cape Town’s Design Indaba and Nairobi’s Fashionist Turkel Fair.
The show is a dynamic showcase of Liz’s alluring and bold clothing designs and a performance of her songs from her KenSoul album.
Fashion meets Music is becoming a formidable success across the African continent with Ogumbo’s brand ambassador partnership with Africa’s first handset manufacturer Mi-Fone. Mi-Fones’ innovative Mi-Music partnership creates the opportunity for fashion and music to transcend the catwalks and global stages to be brought to life in African inspired mobile devices and applications for the aspirational young African trendsetter.
“I am so honoured to be part of this festival,” says Ogumbo. “Sanaa Africa is going to be an amazing celebration of Africa’s fashion, music and culture – elements that are very close to my heart. I intend for ‘Fashion meets Music’ to give audiences a refreshing perspective on African artistic expression, which, I believe, is a perfect way to celebrate this wonderful continent of ours.”
Entrance is free and there will be some unreserved seating although festival organisers recommend that members of the public who’d like to have lunch while taking in the festivities pre book their tables to ensure a seat near the show.
