A keen blogger and avid tweeter, Jellars is originally from Cape Town and brings with her an impressive magazine track record. Liezl de Swardt, GM of the Women's Interest Division at Media24 Magazines, commented that, “Janine brings fresh inspiration and a dynamic vision to the seventeen brand.”

The ever stylish and sassy Jellars is perfect for this brand and her interest in popular youth culture as well as her passion for the youth of South Africa, makes her perfect to head this influential magazine that speaks to the country’s confident, connected and brand-savvy young adults.

“I'm extremely excited to be joining the seventeam. As a long-time fan of this dynamic brand, this really is the opportunity of a lifetime. I cannot wait to get started and join a team that's been instrumental in inspiring and educating young women across the country,” says Jellars.

Born and raised in Cape Town, she attended Livingstone High School before studying a BA International Studies and Honours in Journalism at the University of Stellenbosch. She started off in radio journalism and has worked on a variety of glossy magazines, including True Love, FAIRLADY and Elle.

Jellars’ first issue will be the October issue, on street from 21 September.
