24.com also took home the following awards at last week’s event: in the publisher category, bronze for Channel24 and silver for Food24, News24 and Health24; in the mobile site – publisher category, bronze for m.news24.com; in the handheld/phone (applications and tools) category, silver for News24; and in the multi-platform publisher category they received bronze for News24.

This is not the first time that 24.com has been recognised by the Bookmarks. At the 2010 awards the publishing house received, amongst others, gold for News24 in the category publishing site and in 2009 News24 won the prestigious black pixel for Best in Show Publishing Category Award.

Says Cohen: “We look forward to creating new products in 2012 that combine our focus on technology, content and community and to continue with the momentum.”

“While the recognition is great as a milestone - our drive remains to grow the market overall so that we can both present great content to growing audiences and offer our commercial partners fantastic new ways for them to tell their stories,” he adds.

Cohen finishes off by thanking the Bookmarks team and the DMMA. “The 2010 Bookmarks was a fantastic event that perfectly showcased the impressive work that is being done in digital media and advertising in South Africa."
