House and Leisure also impressed the judges in the Decor, Crafts, Food and Gardening category and received a highly commended accolade.

"It’s been a phenomenal year for us," says Naomi Larkin, editor of House and Leisure. "Not only did the industry take note of our success but our readers have too. Over the past year our circulation has increased markedly, placing us in an exceptional position within our sector."

House and Leisure posted a circulation increase of 43 991 compared to 38 215 for the same period last year (audited total circulation, July to September 2012). The website www.houseandleisure.co.za, launched in May last year, has also attracted a great following, with over 22 000 unique users recorded for October. Finally, to bring the travel pages of the magazine closer to its readers, the magazine launched the House and Leisure Travel Club in August this year. The House and Leisure Travel Club offers readers and subscribers free access to the best local and international travel destinations, great monthly discounts, personalised travel offers and the opportunity to explore the world with the HL editorial team.

"It’s been a year of expansion – not only are we growing our community of readers but also our product offerings," says Larkin. "Judging by the positive response online and feedback on social networks, our efforts continue to find favour with the decor, design and lifestyle market."
