Greathead is a keen DIY’er in his personal capacity and has taken on a variety of projects, from woodwork to plumbing and even waterproofing a roof. He previously worked on a number of trade publications in the built environment covering plumbing, architecture and design as well as mining.

According to Greathead, he has always enjoyed working with his hands and the prospect of writing about something he enjoys motivated him to apply for the position.

The first editor, Sean Houghton mentioned in his inaugural editor’s note: “Vital to the success of The Home Handyman is the participation of, and feedback from our readers’, which still holds true today. This is evidenced by the lively forum whereby readers have their queries answered by a panel of experts, as well as the high response to competitions and give-aways, reflecting the passionate interest shown by readers of the magazine.”

Greathead promises to uphold the heritage of the publication and looks forward to hearing from the readers.

Launched in November 1993, The Home Handyman magazine has been published by the independent Home Handyman Publishing company for the past 15 years. Over 240 issues have been published to date. The magazine is available in both a printed version as well as a digital offering.
