Zaba, 26, is overwhelmed at the award which acknowledges, encourages, rewards and promotes positive achievements within the youth of KwaZulu-Natal.

“I’m honoured and humbled by this achievement,” says Zaba. “It's a great feeling to know that the work you do every day inspires the youth to do better and achieve greatness. I often prep shows and get on air and I never notice the impact my work has on the youth of KZN.”

Home Affairs minister Malusi Gigaba and First Lady, Thobeka Zuma, were among the special guests at the glittering ceremony at the Blue Waters Hotel.

Zaba presents the 09:00 to midday show on weekdays on East Coast Radio.
