Since its inception, Sexpo, South Africa’s premier health, lifestyle and sexuality expo, has focused on helping people to express their sexuality in positive ways, and encourage safety and responsibility. Sexpo has never endorsed illegal or harmful practices and strongly condemns child pornography and human trafficking. For this reason, Sexpo has partnered with the FPB, for this year's exhibition.

“The FPB has an extensive outreach campaign against child pornography, including creating awareness and educating people about the issue in the media, in schools and on social networks, as well as enabling people to anonymously report suspicious or illegal activity,” says Janine Raftopoulos, Manager Communications and Public Education, FPB.

“The FPB’s work in South Africa is critical to balance the need for freedom of expression with the obligation to protect children from being exploited or harmed. Sexpo fully supports the activities of the FPB and shares their commitment towards promoting the health, safety and empowerment of children – and adults,” continues Raftopoulos.

Sexpo 2015, which will be held at Gallagher Estate in Midrand from Thursday, 24 to Sunday, 27 September, is themed Rio Carnival Interactive, and promises to be the biggest, boldest and most vibrant show yet. Tickets are available from Computicket but sale and entry will be strictly restricted to those over 18.

Christel McMahon, general manager for Sexpo, says, “Each year the expo attracts thousands of people who want to learn about and celebrate the many aspects of human sexuality. Sexpo is fun, flirty and risqué but it is designed for adults only, and is helping to open up new dialogues about sexual health and liberation.”

She adds, “Sexpo admires the dedicated work of the FPB in protecting children, and are proud and appreciative to have them as a 2015 sponsor.”

Sexpo would also like to gratefully acknowledge its other main sponsors, including Topco and Penthouse.
