Miss Earth is currently on the search for South Africa’s most green at heart. Young women between the ages of 18- 26 years of age are invited to enter the 2012 initiative. This initiative sponsored by Consol, empowers young South African women to take on an active role in sustainable development, community greening, energy efficiency and carbon reduction programmes. Ten years ago this initiative started off as a dream. A dream to inspire, enrich and green the lives of South African’s. Hundreds of South African women have had the opportunity to participate over the past decade. Now the opportunity lies ahead for 2012’s potential entrants and finalists.

This is a programme to empower young women to become actively involved in greening projects, conservation efforts and to support sustainable programmes in their communities. These young women will be exposed to important issues such as Water Stewardship, energy efficiency, renewable energies, glass recycling and sustainability. They will continually be involved in educational programmes, workshops and much more. It’s a learnership leadership programme that will add value to the lives of all the young women who are successful for the year ahead. The 2012 gala event will take place in Johannesburg at a glittering gala dinner with high profile guests, celebrities and green leaders. Proud partners include headline partner Consol, main partners Imperial Toyota, Total, Jane Iredale mineral make up, SA India, Newsclip, JoJo Tanks and Bijan Boutique hairdressers.
