This dynamic new division brings to market an innovative concept in eventing, born out of a need identified by the group for exclusive women-oriented events and event management services for functions aimed specifically at women.

Henkel says the new venture is a natural extension of Sorbet’s existing offerings. “We surveyed our 70 000 loyalty members and noticed a very real demand for events for women, whether getaway weekends, pamper sessions or ladies’ seminars. Our business is based on the premise of making women feel good about themselves – and we’re trusted by thousands of women across the country to do just that. Through Sorbet Events we’ll now be able to take that offering to an even wider market,” explains Henkel.

The business specialises in the organisation and management of large- and small-scale events, including intimate baby showers, weddings, product and business launches, corporate seminars, golf days, corporate functions and specialised ladies’ events. The Sorbet Events team handles all aspects of the event, from basic elements like décor and food to entertainment, fashion shows and even choreography if necessary.

It also offers a collection of its own special events for women, including the Sorbet Rejuve weekend and private pamper parties. The weekend retreat involves whisking a group of women away to an exclusive five-star destination for one night and two days, where they’re able to access lifestyle, beauty, health and wellness advice through various activities geared towards encouraging them to love their bodies.

The pamper sessions are held at Sorbet Events’ exclusive private pamper lounges (not at stores), and allow women to sit back, relax and be spoilt with a little pampering and indulgence in a safe and secure environment. The sessions include express manicures and pedicures (by Sorbet); shoulder and neck massages (by Sorbet); hair styling (by Gary Rom – including vouchers); make-up application (by Maybelline); cocktails; snacks and fantastic gifts to take home.

“Our pamper service is based on providing individual attention, and designed to make women feel beautiful and love themselves. All our therapists are outgoing, bubbly ladies that enjoy interacting with our clients. They are fully qualified, having all achieved at least a two-year diploma with international qualifications, and know all there is to know about the products and services we offer. We guarantee that when your pamper session is over, you’ll feel great about yourself and best of all, you’ll look the part!” adds Henkel.

Sorbet Events’ offerings are available nationwide, with at least two weeks’ booking notice being required. Although the pamper sessions are held at Sorbet’s private lounges, group bookings of 10 women or more can be accommodated at other venues, such as private homes or offices.

The pamper parties cost R599 per person and the Sorbet Rejuve weekend R3 500 per person (all inclusive).
