On Tuesday, 20 November, she won yet another award as she placed in the top three positions for National Costume. In Bonifacio City she bagged her eighth medal among the 91 delegates from across the globe wearing a Ndebele inspired traditional outfit designed by local designer Victor Kok of the Western Cape.

Jardine wanted something that would not only be inspired by the Ndebele traditional outfit, but something that symbolised the South African flag and a touch of Zulu tradition too. All bead work was done by a local community project in Johannesburg. Victor Kok designed most of Tamerin’s award winning garments.

The night before South Africa won gold at the evening gown competition and now has all her energy focussed on the big judging process to take place on Wednesday in Manila. The focus of this years event other than an extensive programme of greening, educating children, clean up’s and more, delegates have been exposed to the importance of Renewable and Sustainable Energy for all as the core theme. 25-year-old Jardine has been working closely with the local organisation Miss Earth South Africa in association with Consol and 49M in efforts to create a greater awareness of Energy Efficiency.

Global followers of this initiative all have their bets on South Africa taking this years Green Crown. The 2012 Miss Earth will be announced at an environmental gala extravaganza in Versailles Palace, Alabang in the Philippines on Saturday, 24 November.
