Businesses and individuals had been pledging to help KwaZulu-Natal’s ill and destitute children during a special live broadcast and telethon that wrapped up at 18:00. A host of celebrities have been streaming in to help raise funds for this longstanding CSI campaign.

AKA said he was happy to be involved with such an amazing initiative and encouraged listeners to pledge: “Call me. I’m waiting to speak to you.”

Lloyd Cele, Majozi, and Amazulu players Bornwell Mwape, Ntokozo Mzobe, Allan Robertson and Brilliant Mkhathini, Gangs of Ballet, TV personality Patricia Lewis, Thato Molamu, Sharks players Daniel and Jean-Luc du Preez and Sunfoil Dolphins Brandon Scullard and Robbie Frylinck all made their way to the live broadcast to help.

East Coast Radio presenters Jane Linley-Thomas and Terence Pillay popped the champagne to celebrate raising R1-million for ill and disadvantaged children of KwaZulu-Natal.
