Visitors got to interact with advertising and marketing professionals who could help them deliver on their brand objectives and campaigns.

T-shirt design competition

Mzwakhe Booi was announced as the winner of the 2019 Modern Marketing T-shirt Design Competition. Booi won a cash prize of R3 500. Runner-up Tanita de Lange won R1 750 and the second runner-up, Deshmir Moodley, won R1 000.

Designers were invited to post their 'Explosion of Possibilities' themed T-shirt design on the Modern Marketing Facebook page. Entrants were required to get as many 'Likes' as possible for their design to be printed and showcased at the Modern Marketing Expo. The top 15 designs were printed and displayed at registration for the public to vote.

The expo also featured a '#ModernMarketingTrendCamp' where delegates saw presentations from industry experts, covering branding, new-age marketing, technology and campaigns across the marketing and branding industries.

Exhibitors had positive feedback about the event

Jacqueline Les from Stelle Group says, "This is the first time we were promoting our marketing side of all three of our companies. We saw a diversity of visitors, and we had a great response with positive leads. The visitors we had were here for a reason — they were looking for branding and marketing solutions, not just passing by."

Jason Smith from Print Impact adds, "The show was quite good for us; we have had a lot of guys from marketing companies and corporates. On the second day, we already received some orders that were sent to our office and have had more leads than we normally have, so the future of our business is already looking better."

Grant Yang from Power Africa says, "The show was very good. Visitors to our stand were looking for new ways of marketing and getting their brand out there, not just walking around. I am happy with the quality of people that I interacted with as they were buyers. It was a well-organised show — well done to the organisers."

Stephan Koekemoer from Cut2Size adds, "We had a manageable number of people coming through to our stand and we were happy that we could have conversations with them all as they were people who knew what they wanted. It was the right set of people — business people who were here to look and buy the solutions."

Cindy Mynhardt from Tali Digital Branding Solutions says, "We have had a lot of positive feedback and lots of inquiries."

Greg Heyne from OCD Marketing adds, "We had good quality visitors, most of which were potential resellers of the marketing and branding solutions that we have — so those were a lot of business owners."

Lelanie Clark from Mnandi Signs says, "It was the first time [that] we were promoting the branding side of our business. We have had a lot of hits, which [we] need to follow up on."

Terrence Govender from Pinnacle Digital Solutions adds, "We liked the expo set up and the vibe altogether. We had a mixture of visitors from students, who were learning more about the industry, to business owners who were looking for supplies and to expand their businesses."

Eugene Dacache from Excel LED says, "We had a good show. We got some enquiries and a lot of interest, the visitors were very receptive." A We Do Pro representative said, "The venue was amazing and so were the people. They knew what they wanted and asked relevant questions, so we had a lot of leads to follow up on."
