WPP says that the list depicts WPP's strength as the leading creative force in the region over the last decade.

Three of WPP's South African agencies took spots on the regional list.

These included:
  • Ogilvy Johannesburg ranked third,
  • Ogilvy Cape Town ranked fourth, and
  • VMLY&R South Africa ranked 10th.
Leading the Middle East and Africa list was VMLY&R Dubai, which took first place in the region for a decade of exceptional creative work, while Ogilvy Dubai took fifth.

Mark Read, CEO of WPP, says, "WPP's strength of presence in the Middle East and Africa over the last 10 years is testament to the hard work of our people and the long-established relationships we have with our clients."

"Coming out on top in this region is particularly important to us; it's where the next billion consumers will be and where creativity and connectivity is thriving. Cannes Lions is our industry's most important celebration of creativity and I'm extremely proud of what WPP has achieved," concludes Read.
