The 18 gorgeous finalists that participated in the pageant took to the stage with lots of encouragement from the crowd. Even the world’s biggest Hooters fan, Sweden’s Magnus Jakobsson was in attendance.
MC Rowan Clelland introduced the girls as they showed off their uniforms, eveningwear and finally their swimsuits. There were quite a few crowd favourites and the celebrity judging panel consisting of Chantelle Swart (Mrs SA First princess 2013), Kirsten Martins (Miss Hooters SA 2013 and Miss Hooters World 2013), Angelique Gerber (
7de Laan and
Boer Soek ‘n Vrou), Stian Lemmer (South African World Beauty Fitness and Fashion pro) and Ashleigh Frost (WBFF pro), had a very tough decision to make.
A delighted audience watched as Kirsten Martins and Gordon Jestin, COO of Hooters SA, crowned Beigley as Miss Hooters SA 2014. Beigley will represent South Africa in the international pageant in Las Vegas in July. The runners up were First Princess, Chivonne Brits, from Hooters Emperors Palace and Second Princess, Kayla-Teri Hofer, from Hooters on the Buzz in Fourways. In 2014 the audience had a chance to vote for their favourite Hooters Girl leading up to the pageant. Michelle MacHardy from Hooters Emperor’s Palace walked away with the
Viewer’s Choice Award 2014.
According to Hooters SA Swimsuit Pageant Organiser, Brett Simmons, the event has grown in popularity in recent years. “I was thrilled to see how excited the public was about the pageant this year. We had guests lining up outside the door to get in from early and there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout, both backstage and amongst the audience members. This was definitely our biggest and best-supported Miss Hooters SA pageant yet.”
Hooters SA COO, Gordon Jestin, is looking forward to sending Beigley to Las Vegas. “I’m very proud of all 18 girls who took part and helped make the pageant such a success this year. I believe Maxine is the perfect contestant to represent Hooters SA in Las Vegas as I know she will really give her all to do South Africa proud.”
"I can’t actually believe I won! I am so honoured and very excited to be going to Las Vegas to represent my country. I will do my best to make my Hooters SA family proud,” said Beigley
The entertainment didn’t end after the crowning of Miss Hooters SA and the crowd danced the night away to the electro swing sounds of popular band GoodLuck.
