Episodes one and two - which covered Soweto and Johannesburg - had a premiere, ranking Discovery the number one factual channel in its slot for adults 15 or older, adults 25 to 34 and adults 15 or older in the LSM 8 to 10.

The back-to-back episodes also boosted Discovery Channel’s adults 15 or older timeslot share by 120% compared with year-to-date levels, while the timeslot share among 15 to 34 years old was over six times higher.

Owens also digs into aspects of the nation's history while uncovering fascinating personal stories from locals he meets along the way and delves into little known areas of the country.
