Sir David Attenborough

This issue features a cover story on Sir David Attenborough, age 91, who is a well-renowned broadcaster, adventurer and naturalist.

The world of journalism

This month, readers will have the opportunity to glimpse into the world of newsmakers with journalists Ruda Landman and Lukhanyo Calata.

What's with the polar bears and penguins?

The publication responds to the last edition's readers, who pointed out that there are no polar bears in the Antarctic Peninsula.

According to The Big Issue, it exercised its creative license by running with the image of a polar bear with penguins, as this animal is the 'popular poster child' of the frozen northern wilderness.

The magazine says there is no such poster child for the Antarctic Peninsula, which is just as much under threat as the North Pole
