As of Tuesday, 12 November, GOtv subscribers across English-speaking sub-Saharan Africa can expect a line-up of iconic children's entertainment, as well as Hollywood blockbusters for the family.

Cartoon Network and TNT already have a proven record in South Africa, ranking third and fourth respectively as the most-watched pay-TV channels in South Africa in September.

Cartoon Network, known for titles such as Ben 10, Craig of the Creek, Teen Titans Go! and The Amazing World of Gumball, will add viewing experiences to GOtv. Along with new episodes of top-performing shows, Cartoon Network will launch an exclusive original production, Victor and Valentino to celebrate the holiday season.

TNT will provide GOtv with iconic heroes, American blockbusters, action and thrills in November and December. After the Martial Arts Marathon, viewers can celebrate the holidays with films such as Tim Burton's Beetlejuice, Spy Kids and Jumanji.

Following TNT's rebrand a year ago, the unique positioning — highlighting TNT's heightened response to the needs of African audiences — has had positive results for the channel. The channel is progressing with a growth of 193% year-on-year, with more than 8.27 million South African viewers in September.

"We are thrilled to bring Cartoon Network and TNT to a wider African audience and to extend our partnership with MultiChoice through GOtv," says Guillaume Coffin, VP commercial and head of business development of France and Africa.

"The quality of our channels — combined with MultiChoice's excellence in marketing — will contribute to bringing our premium quality American features and innovative kids' content to an even wider audience on the African continent," adds Coffin.

"We are convinced that our existing fans will be as excited about this new entertainment experience as we are, and [we] look forward to welcoming our new GOtv fans to join in on the fun — just in time for the festive season," Coffin says.

"As the home of African television, it's always a win for us to be able to deliver on making great entertainment accessible to more customers with top family entertainment. This new partnership with WarnerMedia is an example of that," says Yolisa Phahle, CEO of general entertainment at the MultiChoice Group.

"We look forward to continuing to deliver more choice and value to our customers as Africa's most loved storyteller," concludes Phale.
