On Wednesday, 18 July, each of the 67 charities will be gifted donations comprising the ‘urgent necessities’ they need to continue making an impact on the lives of their beneficiaries.

The 67 charities are made up of women’s shelters, homeless shelters, special needs homes, old aged homes, children’s homes and early childhood development centre’s. Good Hope FM has partnered with Water4CapeTown, Aquacello and DDS in an aim to make this happen.

However, according to Good Hope FM, the desired target for donated goods can never be reached without enthusiastic public participation.

"We consider our listeners to be part of our crew, and so it’s been heartening to see them actively contribute to our Mandela Day initiative," says Brendan Ficks, Good Hope FM station manager.

"We know it’s not always possible to leave the office to put in the 67 minutes of service. This way, we can do it together," adds Ficks.

Members from each of the 67 charities will be hosted by Good Hope FM at a breakfast event on Wednesday, 18 July, where they will receive the donations and deserved recognition for their contribution towards transforming the lives of their beneficiaries.
