"We have decided to join forces with our oldest sponsors Doppio Zero and stretch out a helping hand to Gauteng," says Ladles founder, Danny Diliberto. "This year, Doppio Zero's 'Wishtree' campaign will raise funds so that together we can serve 1 200 school children a Christmas lunch in two separate schools."

"[This will be at] the Zakhele Primary school in Mamelodi on Thursday, 28 November and at Vulamazibuko Primary school Diepkloof Zone, Soweto on Wednesday, 4 December," adds Diliberto.

Diliberto says that they are looking for 100 volunteers to help serve at each event at the schools to help them create memories for a lifetime for the children. "At Ladles of Love, we refer to our work as 'Seva', which is a beautiful Sanskrit word that refers to the art of selfless service," Diliberto concludes. "When you give of yourself wanting nothing in return you become a Seva warrior."

To book a spot on either Thursday, 28 November or Wednesday, 4 December, visit the team's Facebook page, or visit its Quicket links for Soweto or Mamelodi.

The team is encouraging the public to get involved by either joining the team, donating, sponsoring a school feeding scheme or becoming a partner. Those wanting to donate to the 'Wishtree' campaign can go to any Doppio Zero restaurant in Gauteng and pledge their R50 donation.
