Popular Mechanics has extended its presence to the internet. The technology magazine launched its own website on 1 June, bringing a diversity of content to curious-minded web browsers. "It's an exciting and long-anticipated development, especially for a magazine that celebrates science and technology," commented editor Alan Duggan. "An online presence will reinforce our relationship with readers, encourage debate, draw in more subscribers and provide a channel for the exchange of useful information. It will also showcase the articles that make our magazine unique, giving visitors an opportunity to interact with our staff, enter competitions online, and stay in touch with breaking news." The website highlights the five pillars of the magazine - science, technology, home, wheels and outside. The new website can be accessed at www.popularmechanics.co.za.
