Epilepsy South Africa would like to encourage people to get more involved. There are different ways in which people can participate to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

It is important to always include people with disabilities. Focus on the removal of barriers to create an inclusive and accessible society that would benefit all South Africans, especially those with disabilities. People are also encouraged to host forums, public discussions and information campaigns to find innovative ways and means to break down barriers to the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their families.

Celebrate by planning and organising performances showcasing and celebrating the contributions made by persons with disabilities as agents of change and development in their communities. People can share their success stories with Epilepsy South Africa on www.epilepsy.org.za/celebrating_achievements.

Another way to get involved is for people to take action by removing barriers that limit accessibility for, and participation by, persons with disabilities in all aspects of society and development. Highlight progress and obstacles in creating an accessible and inclusive society (physical environments, information and communications technology and other areas). People can also promote public awareness of existing barriers to the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in their societies.

Epilepsy South Africa would like to take this opportunity to inform South Africans that through their support, Epilepsy South Africa can provide reliable and ongoing resources to those living with the condition, and act immediately and effectively on acts of violation to those with disabilities.
