What was your first job?/Where did you start?

My first job was at SAA. I had the benefit of being on a rotation structure, which allowed me to experience varied functions as well as exercise different skills muscles. The advantage to this was that I got an early understanding of how a business functions as well as my personal strengths that have been built over time.

What made you want to build a career in your profession?

I have had the privilege of working with truly talented mentors in environments that not many get exposure to which coupled with the knowledge gained over time has allowed me to specialise in a field that that is constantly evolving.

Describe a day in your life at present

A trawl through what is happening in the world is followed by a team huddle. Conversations with clients or internal conversations are interspersed with strategic planning for our diverse partners.

What do you enjoy the most about your work?

I definitely enjoy the challenge of getting to grips with what partner’s goals are and working with them to accomplish those goals.

How do you unwind behind the scenes?

I chill by riding a lovely horse named Henry which is a hobby that celebrates elation of the spirit and reading, which does the same for both spirit and mind.

Who would you most like to meet - dead or alive - and why?

Mahatma Gandhi as he was one of the greatest strategic minds and had the ability to inspire as well as see the absurd in life.

What is your secret indulgence and your three ‘can’t live without’ items?

My secret indulgence is TV especially as it is such a distinct conduit of propaganda and cultural zeitgeist. My family tops my list of “items” and my trusty notebook would definitely feature.

Which car would best personify you, and why?

1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL as the fastest production car of it’s time epitomised both style and a revolution in thinking which is a the ultimate combination of the internal workings being reflected externally so this would be my ideal (sic) personification.

Modern family and The Fixer

Who is someone you truly look up to, and which qualities do you most admire about them?

Aung San Suu Kyi is an intelligent, principled and dedicated woman who suffered personal hardship for the betterment of her country and globally became the face of the will of the people which are qualities that I admire as they signify doing what is right over what is expedient which has become a prevailing western ethic.

What’s your stance on social media?

It is an important purveyor of social discourse and needs to be treated as such. Social media has given a voice to millions of voiceless individuals and impacted society in meaningful and superficial ways.
