The behind the scenes documentary was enjoyed by travellers in nine airports nationally, and took them on a journey of discovery that showed a different side to the well-known and revered icons.

To complement the airport.tv® campaign, an activations campaign was implemented at Cape Town and OR Tambo international airports.

Mzukisi Deliwe, director of Airport Ads®, attended the much anticipated 21 ICONS South Africa Charity Auction and Gala Dinner hosted by the City of Tshwane. At the event he took part in raising funds for charities nominated by each of the icons.

“21 Icons is such a unique concept as it combines fine-art portraiture, short film, behind the scenes photography and a feature length documentary. It has been an honour to be a part of the project. Not only is it a worthy cause, it also celebrates South Africans and provides a cultural legacy for all of us to reflect upon,” says Deliwe.
