Speaking of the appointment BBDO Group managing director Boniswa Pezisa says that Net#work BBDO were selected out of a process of eleven then finally four agencies in this highly contested pitch. “This is an incredible opportunity for the agency to tackle the challenge of restoring the National Lottery to its former position as a respected South African institution.”

“I’m a firm believer in creating your own luck and we went into this pitch with a passion to create something special for the National Lottery brand – it felt like the whole agency stood up and presented,” says Pezisa.

Brad Reilly, newly appointed ECD at BBDO says, “Our primary task is to drive behavioural change.  The only way to do this is to reframe the role of the Lottery in the lives of 50 million South Africans. The ambition is clear and we feel like we’ve already achieved memorable, relevant and transformative thinking on this account. We can’t wait to get started.”

Pezisa says that she believes that the quality of strategic thinking in the presentation coupled with the agency’s depth of consumer understanding stood the agency apart in the pitch process. “We’re extremely excited to get stuck-in and re-invigorate the National Lottery in South Africa.”
