The Whisky Live Showrooms are intimate, handcrafted events that display some of the best local and international whiskies, presented under one roof by the world’s leading experts. Some of the whiskies available for tasting include firm favourites from House of Walker, Chivas Regal, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie and Bunnahabhain as well as newcomers Tomatin and Smokehead. Innis & Gunn, a craft beer made in whisky barrels, will also offer an intriguing interlude for the curious and adventurous alike.

Complementary products that enhance the whisky lifestyle will add to the experience, including high-end fragrances – Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gaultier, van Cleef and Arpels, Bulgari and Burberry - premium cigars from The Cigar Club and a selection of Twisp’s Electronic Cigarettes. The Showrooms’ sophisticated, luxury environment creates the perfect setting for friends to catch up, for business associates to network, and for fans and newcomers to whisky to explore a wealth of tastes and scents in an intimate setting.

The Durban Showroom will return to SUNCOAST, giving Durban fans of the dram the opportunity to enjoy their favourite whiskies and encounter new expressions of this ancient drink.

The Whisky Live Showroom in Pretoria is the first in the city and will take place at 012 Central, a new downtown venue. The epitome of inner-city revival, 012 Central is housed in a former warehouse that has been transformed into the city’s latest hot spot, and is the ideal backdrop for enjoying a whisky with friends or colleagues.

The Cape Town Whisky Live Showroom has moved to a V&A Waterfront location, The Lookout, offering more space for whisky fans than ever before against the backdrop of breath-taking ocean vistas. This event takes place over the same weekend as Father’s Day, offering city residents the perfect opportunity to spoil their dads.

“The 2014 Whisky Live Showrooms proved to be really popular, giving whisky fans and those keen to experiment with the dram the chance to enjoy old favourites and new expressions of whisky-making craft in an exclusive environment,” says Emily Stockden, COO of the Whisky Live Festival. “We are so excited to take the Showrooms to new venues that will give more people the opportunity to try new whiskies and new ways of drinking the dram. South Africans continue to break the stereotypes around whisky, and we look forward to welcoming men and women of all ages.”
