The Station of the Year further confirms Jacaranda FM’s status as the definitive commercial radio station in South Africa. The bi-lingual radio station boasts a listenership of over 1.9 million spread across Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga and Limpopo and plays a memorable mix of hits from the 80s, 90s and now.

“Winning Station of the Year is a wonderful accolade and credit must go to each and every person at the station for applying their skill, talent and passion to what is an incredible radio and multi-media product,” said Jacaranda FM general manager, Kevin Fine.

The Station of the Year Award was not the only award for Jacaranda FM. Barney Simon took to the stage three times as he won Night time Commercial Show, Weekend Radio Show and Best Music Show went to Closet Classics. Martin Bester took home the win for Afternoon Drive Presenter. According to Fine, Simon and Bester are the epitome of work ethic of the station and completely deserving of their honours.

Jacaranda FM may have been most nominated station but the real winners are indeed its listeners and clients and it will certainly be a week of celebrations at the broadcast centre.
