Gangiah will join representatives from Disney Africa and the series producers to make up the I Love Violetta casting panel, who will be on hand to witness the talent that South Africa has to offer.

The first South African Disney Channel local production, I Love Violetta is a brand new companion series that will launch later in the year together with the all-singing, all-dancing third season of the hit telenovela Violetta on Disney, channel 303 on DStv. Featuring three new local presenters, the weekly series will re-live the best moments of recent Violetta episodes, anticipate what will happen next, discuss favourite characters and showcase choreography, fashion advice and more.

Gangiah first became known to the South African public in 2007 when she joined the Tuks FM team and since then her relationship with the South African media has blossomed. Currently you’ll hear her every weeknight between 19:00 and 22:00 on Jacaranda FM’s new show The Lounge, alongside Cassy Clarke. But while a popular DJ at night, she manages to juggle and nurture her other passions of business, fashion and modeling. Gangiah’s diversity comes across in that she has worked in both radio (for stations such as Highveld Stereo and Ballz Visual Radio), and as a TV presenter.

Says Gangiah, “A talent search is what kick-started my career, therefore I jumped at the chance to be a part of I Love Violetta. There is so much talent in South Africa. I simply cannot wait to see what is in store.”

Entries for the talent search closed on Friday, 19 June. Selected entrants have been invited to show their skills in front of the casting panel at auditions in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg respectively. After the auditions, short-listed auditionees will be invited back to a workshop, after which the three chosen presenters will make history as they begin production on I Love Violetta, to air later in the year on Disney, channel 303 on DStv, together with Season 3 of Violetta.

Violetta is a telenovela that tells the story of a musically talented teenager. After returning to her native Buenos Aires with her father from Europe where they lived for several years, Violetta must navigate the trials and tribulations of growing up. Each episode includes original musical numbers from diverse musical genres such as pop music.

Fans can currently catch Season 2 of Violetta on Disney, channel 303 on DStv, every weekday at 16:10 and repeated at 19:30.
