Naidoo, who was born in the Southern Suburbs and raised in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, studied PR at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology before pursuing a career in television, public relations, fashion and as emcee.

Says Naidoo of her career: “I pinch myself daily. My journey started in 2010 as a live anchor for Hectic Nine-9 on SABC2. I then moved onto insert presenting for Expresso, SABC3.”

“That said, I worked both on-screen and behind the scenes for both productions and needed to move cities to further my growth in the industry. Moving to Jozi was the best decision I ever made for myself, as I then landed my current show called Edge in November 2014. It's a technology and science show that airs every Wednesday on channel ED at 19:00.”

Naidoo is tremendously excited about her appointment as brand ambassador for Olympic International Footwear. “It's the best kind of motivation to make sure I make fitness even more of a priority than ever before. I've also become increasingly addicted to sneakers and find it quite the chore to wear heels these days. I'm looking forward to looking good and feeling great while I tackle my exercise routines in Olympic kicks.”

“At the moment, I exercise three to four times a week. I love hiking, walking and indoor trampolining. I’m a bit of an extreme junkie - I need no second invite to abseil down the side of Table Mountain or take a major jump or free-fall into something like the Bagjump. My latest challenge is to master the art of wall running at BOUNCE, SA’s first official trampoline park,” says Naidoo.

“Olympic International Footwear’s newly launched Spring/Summer 2015 active lifestyle footwear collection makes it easier to enjoy these special moments. On top of it their range will ensure that, no matter which discipline, your trainers are comfy and supportive, secure across the instep and in the heel, but roomy enough to wiggle your toes. Their range is vast with over 35 styles to choose from. From the gym to the trampoline, the city to rocky trails, the soccer field to netball court, athletics stadium to the dock - Olympic International Footwear has it covered,” she says.

According to Naidoo, exciting and innovative design is blended with the best performance technologies that cross over between athletic and casual environments, seamless constructions, fashion-forward design, as well as advanced technologies and materials. Her favourites include the Trail High, Transition, Megan, Blast, Force and Flash.

As a brand ambassador for Olympic International Footwear, Naidoo wants to remind people of how many fun alternatives there are to keeping fit.

“Presenting requires quite a bit of energy and I’m on my feet most of the time. Fitness is as important in relation to every other success we want to achieve for ourselves in life. I understand the importance of keeping healthy for both body and mind and will share my healthy eating tips and favourite but healthy cheats in the process. It's never only about fitness but about what we feed our bodies too. I'm excited to bring a fresh spin to a very retro brand that we've all grown up with.”

Naidoo feels she has lived many of her dreams to date. “But there's still so much more to conquer,” she says.

“One of my greatest achievements thus far is simply having the courage to take risks and make giant leaps of faith. Currently, my hours are very blurred and being your own boss, the work never really stops. I’m trying really hard to make more of an effort to shut off and chill out. Some of my best times, is me time. Sleep is a luxury. I do love spending time with friends and family over a good meal and vino. Music is everything to me and I love a good movie. I also adore candle-light – you’ll find candles on day and night when I’m home. It's a simple pleasure that I simply can’t go without.”

Describing her style as authentic, eclectic, spontaneous, adventurous and sometimes classic, Naidoo has always loved fashion. “My love of fashion stems from school holidays spent with my gran who did CMT garment work and later evolved from my mom. I was fortunate to have my gran sew many unique items together for me that I designed myself. I continuously draw fashion inspiration from people around me and the media. That said though, I'm never phased by trends too much when I actually get down to my own look. Fashion fades, style is eternal.”

On what motivates her, Naidoo comments: “My yesterday motivates my tomorrow. The support from fans, friends and family never goes unnoticed and is treasured. I like to reflect on experiences, grab the lessons and run toward the sun.”

In the little free time she has, she enjoys designing jewellery, accessories and clothing. “I adore art and music and supporting the industries where I can.”

Her goals are to travel more and make a conscious effort to live a balanced life. “After all, we don't live to just work and pay bills, right? I want to stop and smell the roses more.”

A self-confessed tattoo addict, Naidoo has 11 and plans on more in the future.

Not new to being a brand ambassador, Naidoo will not only represent Olympic International Footwear, but is also involved with BOUNCE INC, Ballo CT eyewear, Salon Care SA, Catrice and Essence make-up as well as the face of Paul James Hairdressing and Charity Nail Bar. “I believe they all complement each other perfectly.”
