Aiming to close that gap, LG Electronics has produced a vivid new piece of artwork in the heart of Johannesburg. Located alongside the M1 South and visible to traffic going both ways, this hand painted wall mural will be the largest in South Africa, bringing a world of colour to life before thousands of Jozi drivers’ tired eyes.

The massive artwork represents an ambitious project for Wall 2 Wall, an art and décor company known for designing and creating murals for offices and homes. The final mural will measure four meters high and 80 meters wide and will take two weeks to complete.

Thomas Van der Linde, general marketing manager at LG electronics South Africa said, “Dull, ordinary and safe marketing is being challenged by LG where we are constantly looking to engage with our audiences. LG’s innovative approach aims to expand the realm of the imagination and all visual dimensions where our brand touches and remains in the consumers’ heart and mind.”

Over the course of the mural design, Wall 2 Wall added new colours and designs, bringing the space to life as they moved along. With word of the project already spreading, LG is looking for 10 lifestyle bloggers to track progress of the mural’s creation over the course of next week.

And since the enormous mural celebrates crossing into a new dimension of colour, something LG’s Super Ultra HD TV makes this possible with its Ultra Luminance technology, the blogger that provides the best visual storytelling around the mural’s creation will win a Super Ultra HD TV for themselves.

Bridging that big gap between reality and entertainment is a big ask, but when the mural is complete and the stories are all told, it will bring new dimensions to the streets and your screens.
