EasyPay focuses on the provision of high-volume, secure and convenient payment, prepayment and value-added services. The company's bill payment facility offers consumers a point-of-sale bill payment service which is integrated into a large number of national retailers, the Internet, self-service kiosks and mobile handsets.

“VIDI is expanding rapidly as we approach our one-year anniversary next month. With continual increases in our available content came a natural commitment to make it easier for South Africans to pay for their subscription-based VIDI content,” says VIDI’s Janene Matsukis.

Once VIDI viewers' accounts have been credited they will receive an SMS notification with payments taking up to 24 hours to reflect.

The EasyPay agreement follows the recent announcement of a payment agreement with cellular network operator Vodacom. That deal saw VIDI users being able to pay for their viewing via their Vodacom contract bills.

VIDI is the first South African VOD streaming service to offer both a monthly subscription option and/or an instant rental option across one platform. There is no programme scheduling but rather instant access to thousands of hours of entertainment.

Available across multiple devices, viewers have unlimited subscription to a library of movies and TV series. Viewers don’t require a dish or a decoder and they can cancel their subscription anytime as there are no contracts. It is this option that can be paid for using the EasyPay facility. Viewers also have the option to instantly rent the latest releases just off the circuit.
