LifePaint is a unique reflective safety spray. Invisible by daylight, it shines brightly in the glare of car headlights. Making the invisible, visible.

Designed to react to a car’s headlights, the spray reflects light in the same direction as the light source –shining brightly to illuminate the objects it has been sprayed on. This innovation helps alert drivers to the presence of the pedestrian or cyclist.

The agency partnered with well-known urban cycle race Jozi Hustle, a monthly cycling event hosted by Melville Cycling Shop that takes place in Johannesburg where cyclists gather together and combine the thrill of cycling at night with some fun city site seeing.

The event was attended by avid cyclists and media in the cycling community with a vested interest in Volvo Life Paint and the safety aspect it brings into the sport. With the thrill and fun came goodie bags and prizes and the opportunity to experiment and see the results of this great safety innovation.
“As the leading car manufacturer that maintains its dominance in the field of safety innovation, Volvo stays committed to ensuring safety on the roads and pioneering innovations that make a difference,” says Volvo business unit director Zesta Mitchell.

“LifePaint was well received as Volvo’s safety innovation around cycling. LifePaint is also a natural extension to Volvo’s 2020 vision which communicates that by 2020, nobody will be killed or seriously injured in or by a new Volvo,” concludes Mitchell.
