Family man Jeremy Oliver (40), Stellenbosch student Francis Bowers (22), blind singer Vernon Barnard (22) and Almur Marais (25) from Stilfontein only found out live on air, moments before they had to perform, that they were saved by the voting public to fill the last spots in their coach’s team.

After hearing the good news, Barnard was up against cool kid Austin Lurring (21) who was saved by coach Bobby van Jaarsveld last week, as well as previously saved Gavin Edwards (37) as well as Xanilee Hammond (21). While van Jaarsveld could give one of them a guaranteed performance in next week’s live show, the others would be up for the public vote. It turned out to be a double dose of good news for Barnard. Now, The Voice SA fans need to decide who will be on stage with Barnard in #TeamBobby. And, instead of only being able to save one talent, the two with the most public votes will go through to the next round.

Coach Karen Zoid cheered when hearing that her team’s “Mr Personality”, Marais, raked in the most votes and thereafter his beautiful rendition of Just Jinger’s What He Means elicited some tears and raving comments. When it came to saving time, however, she did not go with Stilfontein. Instead, she chose powerhouse songstress Thembeka Mnguni (32) from Durban who she believes delivered the best work in her very strong team this week. This means that Marais, Zoid’s former back-up singer Thapelo Lekoane (29) and Cape Town’s Jono Grayson (23) are now relying on fans’ support to be on stage again next week.

Luckily, Bowers won’t have to stress about garnering votes this week. Coach Kahn saved the crooner, who impressed with Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. This means that three of the show’s most popular vocalists, Prime Zulu (27) from KZN, Richard Stirton (22) from Cape Town and Clemour Ngobeni (24), have a two in three chance to continue their journey on the competition, courtesy of The Voice SA fans.

#TeamLira’s Zoë Modiga made it very difficult for Jeremy to get the 'save' from his coach. After Modiga had brought the house down with Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit, The Voice SA fans will have to decide who deserves to join her next time. Oliver, Durban’s Jono Johansen (19) and Cape Town’s Robin Pieters (25) are up for the vote.
