“What better way for DStv to give back to our loyal customers and existing super-fans of Empire than by giving them access to top notch talent like Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard. DStv is excited to have partnered with FOX to bring these superstars to South African shores,” says Nomsa Chabeli-Mazibuko, general manager of Marketing at MultiChoice.

“We hope fans of the show will be super excited about our surprise, to learn that Terrence Howard is joining Taraji P Henson. FOX’s partnership with DStv means we can leverage the reach of our brands to bring amazing experiences to South African viewers,” says Khosi Khanyile, head of Marketing at FOX Africa.

In the show the pair have convinced die-hard fans that they need each other and should end up back together again. Having started her own record company called Dynasty, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) often found herself at odds with the CEO of Empire Records, Lucious (Terrence Howard). That is until the companies were merged to much drama ensuing.

For fans who might have missed the second season of Empire, DStv and FOX are offering DStv Compact customers Empire weekends in June - with three stacked episodes at 19:20, 20:10 and 21:00 on Saturday, 4 June; Sunday, 5 June; Saturday, 11 June; Sunday,12 June; Saturday, 18 June and Sunday, 19 June.
