Thee Legacy’s collaboration with Simba comes shortly after being profiled by Apple Music as “Artists To Watch”. 

“The fun new TVC adds a special twist to the Simba Mapha story that South Africans have grown to recognise and emulate,’’ shares Natasha Singh, marketing head of Snacks at PepsiCo. “We are also very excited to announce that the TVC showcases an original, fresh, upbeat track from a local rising band. Wena Wedwa (MusicCraftMAN Mix) from Thee Legacy is the ideal backdrop to the Mapha narrative, adding contemporary local flavour to Simba’s rich brand story.’’

South Africans were introduced to the Simba Mapha storyline in 2013 and the latest TVC builds on the success of this concept, reiterating the idea that “Some things are better when you Mapha”.

“We have grown up on Simba chips and never imagined that one day we would collaborate with this iconic brand. We are both proud and humbled that our single Wena Wedwa (MusicCraftMAN Mix) was selected for the Simba Mapha TVC.
