SABC board loses another senior member
Business Day reports that SABC board member, Magatho Mello, has officially resigned, making him the second board member to quit in less than a month, sparking fears of the collapse of yet another SABC board.
He allegedly quit in frustration at the board's inactivity and the continuing acrimony with Chairperson, Ben Ngubane. Mello allegedly resigned alongside fellow board member Barbara Masekela in the middle of last month, but was urged by the Department of Communications to reconsider his decision. It is believed that frustration over the delay in the Parliamentary hearings - which have left the board in limbo - convinced Mello to confirm his resignation yesterday.
