From moulding award winning ceramics to painting edgy conceptual paintings, Sithole’s solo exhibition is titled Ukuphuca which means 'to scrape off' or 'to take out'. This word is also used when one is shaving, bringing irony to his concept.

Combining ceramics and painting, Sithole expresses anarchic identity within a society predisposed by hybridity. His solo exhibition questions particularly black women in a modern society and their perception of beauty. Sithole believes that the perception of beauty leaves black women in a vacuum in which they lack self-pride instated they create the mask which is appropriate to the perception of beauty.
