(Community: Community Affairs)

Steelburger/Lydenburg News is the most read paper of the area it serves. The readership is multi-racial and the newspaper caters for the needs of all. It carries school news, various community events and newsworthy stories, sport news and hard news.

There is a monthly motoring supplement and a focus on property every second week. Periodically, other supplements such as home and garden, health and beauty and careers are added to the newspaper.

Steelburger/Lydenburg News ran a joint programme with the Lydenburg Environmental Centre where primary school children could win a meal at the local Wimpy or Nando's. This programme was very successful and received 900 entries over a three month period - a great achievement as young readers are hard to reach and entrants had to get hold of an original copy of the newspaper, reading through certain sections to complete the entry form.

Steelburger/Lydenburg News is distributed in Steelpoort, Burgersfort (Mashmuthane), Lydenburg (Mashishing), Origstad, Waterval Rivier Valley, Winterveld (Mpumalanga), Tubatse, Vantech, Eastern Chrome, Manok, Sekhukhune, Bothashoek, Praktiseer, Penge, Moroke, Driekop and Alverton.

The newspaper is published in both English and Afrikaans and has a print run of 10 500. Steelburger/Lydenburg News is represented by the NAB.
