The half-hour talk show starts on 30 January and is aimed at 16 to 35-year-olds. Described as ‘edutainment’, the show will cover a variety of topics pertinent to aspiring young people in South Africa. This is Dineo’s first foray into television presenting and, says the 25-year-old rising star, “Ek Se Lalela is a platform for youth to discuss the issues that impact us on a day to day basis and how we in turn impact the world. We’re tackling real issues and not only will we discuss those issues but we’ll work on solutions for those problems with the help of guest speakers and experts. We’re also celebrating young people who are doing well in their respective fields, which will in turn inspire more young people to go out there and achieve.”

Dineo will be pulling double-duty – continuing to host her 5FM show while hosting the 13 episodes of Ek Se Lalela. “I love being on 5FM. Being on radio gives me a platform to engage with the country’s youth, something I’ll be putting to good use on Ek Se Lalela.”

Ek Se Lalela airs on SABC1 on Mondays from 17:00 to 17:30.
