“Matric is the culmination of at least 13 years of education from grade 0 to 12 and to qualify for tertiary instruction you need good grades. Matrics Uploaded, SABC Education’s multimedia curriculum programme, offers a full course of multimedia lessons across six core subjects: physical sciences, mathematics, English (first additional language), life sciences, mathematical literacy and accounting,” says Pontsho Makhetha, acting general manager at SABC Education.

Driven by Mzansi’s top teachers and hosted by three funky presenters, Amanda Manku, Nonhlanhla Ntuli and Mbuyiselo Khumalo, and post-matric tutors, Matrics Uploaded is a fun interactive game-show where contestants from two competing schools view a lesson from screened subjects, and then battle it out to see which school can outwit the other and become champions for the week. The studio contestants and participating viewers stand a chance to win awesome prizes.

Matrics Uploaded 2012 also offers an extra resource feature of questions and answers on Facebook; this allows learners to interact live with teachers from 18:00 to 19:00 on weekdays. The show is supported by lessons and questions which will be available for download on the revamped website, launching on 20 February.

“Learners can visit the new website and be able to view up-to-date lessons as they are broadcast on the homepage, and they can easily navigate for previously broadcast lessons for revision on specific subjects. The downloaded lessons are also excellent for learners to test their knowledge on each learning strand,” ends Makhetha.

Get uploaded every weekday from 15:00 to 16:00 on SABC1, with repeats from 5:00 to 6:00. To view broadcast schedules for upcoming shows, events and competitions, search for the 'Matrics Uploaded Sabc1' Facebook fan page. The show can also be found on Twitter as @MU_SABC1.
