Fortuin spent 2012 studying film and drama at the New York Film Academy in New York. The multi-talented actress and presenter has had an incredible year exploring this vibrant city where she has learned more about herself and her trade.

Her career started out when she became first princess in Miss South Africa, 2002. She was also voted twice one of FHM’s 100 sexiest women. These days she is a presenter for kykNET’s popular celebrity cooking programme, Roer and a co-producer and presenter on All Access, on M-Net and Mzansi Magic.

“We wanted to emulate the glamorous and sophisticated New York lifestyle for the photographs in our article and decided to use the new 54 on Bath hotel in Rosebank as venue for the shoot," says deputy editor, Hannelie Diedericks.

After finishing her year in New York, Fortuin will spend 2013 at the New York Film Academy’s campus in Los Angeles at Universal Studios. After her graduation she is planning on returning to South Africa to teach local budding artists what she has learnt.
