The finalists are Braintainment, in the category Science and Nature Magazine of the Year, and Barbie for the Magazine Launch of the Year and Specialist Magazine of the Year.

Urs Honegger, CEO of Panorama Media, says “We embarked on a very serious digital publishing exploration in 2012. We launched seven of our 16 titles digitally over the past five months, with two more to be launched before year end. To have two of our magazines chosen as finalists by the DMA, the most coveted awards in the international digital magazine industry, shows us that we are exactly on the right track to taking our current magazines onto the fast-growing digital platform. We have had amazing feedback on all our fully interactive digital magazines and had a record 100 000 downloads of the first Barbie magazine App launched in the world within the first eight weeks of the launch in September.”

Panorama Media titles currently available on the AppStore include Braintainment, Barbie, Animaltalk, HQ, HQPony, PC Format and Teenzone. “In the process of launching our own titles, we have also become an App supplier to the industry, using our 25 years experience in publishing to provide a well-tailored digital magazine product at a highly competitive level,” concludes Honegger.

With entries from over 30 countries, the Digital Magazine Awards reflect the unique reach and diversity of the digital publishing industry. The panel of judges include the international who’s who of the publishing and digital media. The winners will be announced in London on Thursday, 6 December.
