Get out one's walking or running shoes. The 27 for Freedom event will be held on Saturday, 9 February at Drakenstein Correctional Centre as a reminder of Nelson Mandela’s unprecedented quest for dignity and justice for all.
The event comprises running and walking categories.
The fourth annual 27 for Freedom event will be hosted by the Department of Correctional Services with Drakenstein Municipality and Cape Winelands District Municipality and is supported by Huisgenoot

The event consists of three categories at distances that can be either walked or run, 5km, 10km and 27km, as well as the fun 50m toddlers’ run.
And one will be entertained by MC SK Sekoati and top musicians such as Boki, Andriette and Dillon Lerm.Line-up

There are four ways to enter. Either one can enter online via www.topevents.co.za
or offline via select Sportsman's Warehouse stores in the Western Cape. One can also fax their completed entry form with their deposit slip to 021 510 7230 or hand deliver to the municipal offices in Paarl.
