“Madiba redefined parenting by introducing the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund as a vehicle to liberate and provide the opportunity for true freedom to needy little souls. One of the things that particularly raised Tata’s spirits was the sound of children playing, laughing and singing. The birth of Mamas & Papas parenting and lifestyle magazine was in line with his vision, hence the importance of becoming the media partner of the ground-breaking project of the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital. He truly cared for the nation,” Motlekar conveyed. “Love and protection is integral to our children’s survival and helps shape their future. Through love and tenacity, Madiba tirelessly promoted the building of schools in order to provide education for all.”

“Tata truly cared for the nation. He significantly helped to shape our children’s future by contributing to their education and survival, as well as providing for their protection through his various resources. Most importantly, his motivation to care for children was born through love. We will miss his smile, laughter, dance, teachings, leadership and guidance,” she said.

“Today, we can stand as masters of our own destiny. Business integration and the merging of hands with our government, private sector, religious institutions, schools and the community at large, is very important because we need all the help we can get to fight for the rights of our children,” affirmed Motlekar.

“Now is the time to come together because that is what Madiba stood for. His death should not be in vain, but bind and build us all the more,” she maintains. Mandela loved children. He loved this country. Those left behind have a responsibility. We are now in power and we need to stand up and fight the challenges of child abuse, poor education, poverty and lack of job creation.

“In the words of my former president: ‘No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite,’” concludes Motlekar.

Rest in Peace Tata. The Kwenta Media community will continue living his legacy.
