Ghost was developed because there are currently insufficient platforms for independent artists to gain the exposure they need to build a following and a fan base. It has also become very difficult for independents in various genres of the arts to earn a living due the cost of digital purchases becoming cheaper and in most cases free. This means independents experience an even greater struggle to make a living.
