Caps off to the Cricket South Africa creative and strategic agency, The Flagship, which, together with the CSA marketing team, pulled off an incredible campaign that transcended above- and below-the-line media and impact activations to fill the capacity 50 000 Moses Mabhida Stadium.
"Congrats to Match Day activation company, Maverick, who rounded off our campaign with some excellent on-field activity," says Flagship Client Service Director, Beverley Theron. The highly acclaimed Pure Protea 100% South African campaign pulled a history-making, record breaking, sell-out crowd who arrived to see off national hero Makhaya Ntini in his last match for the Proteas in the South Africa versus India Friendship Celebration match, creating an all Africa cricket attendance record.
The effect of the campaign spilled over into ODI frenzy with Sahara Stadium, Kingsmead packed out for the first clash of these two epic teams, won by the Proteas.
Flagship also handled the entire through-the-line media, activations and PR strategy for the ICC global Champions Trophy campaign hosted in South Africa 18 months ago.
The Flagship's astute knowledge and experience in activating new markets across a variety of disciplines, and other top sporting brands such as The Sharks, sees it also shortlisted as a finalist in the Virgin Sports Agency of the Year Awards to be announced in February.
