Gateway Theatre of Shopping to honour and celebrate the life of Nelson Mandela

From the Wednesday, 17 to Sunday, 28 July, visitors to Gateway Theatre of Shopping will be able to write a message to Nelson Mandela on one of the ten glass pillars that will be displayed at Gateway’s exhibition area opposite the Info Desk. Messages can include; Birthday wishes, Nelson Mandela Day pledges and messages celebrating and honouring Madiba.
The ten glass pillars are a celebration of Mandela’s life. “Gateway would like to embrace and celebrate the life of the man who is known as ‘The Father of the Nation’,” says Akash Maharaj, Centre Manager at Gateway Theatre of Shopping.
At the end of July, the glass pillars will be moved to the Centre Management garden where they will be on display.
Gateway’s Blanket Drive
To celebrate Nelson Mandela Day on Thursday, 18 July, Gateway Theatre of Shopping hosted a blanket drive to support C.S.R.M (Christian Salvation and Restoration Ministries). C.S.R.M is committed to demonstrating compassion by addressing poverty through community relief and development. The non-profit organization aims to uplift the lives of the underprivileged. Abuse against women and children, the elderly and orphans is the organization’s key focus.
Visitors to Gateway from Wednesday, 17 to Sunday, 28 July are welcome to donate a blanket to Christian Salvation and Restoration Ministries. A box will be placed at the Nelson Mandela stand at Gateway’s Garden Court where blankets can be dropped off.
